Aislyn Update
She is doing great! Her surgeon stopped the monthly visits and now we don't have to return for six months. We also found the root of her 10 month long diaper rash...food alergies to milk and whey. We switched her to soy based milk and we haven't had a major outbreak since. We will be meeting with an alergist and nutritionist in the next month or so to figure out what foods she can and cannot have.
She is also growing and developing so quickly! She is picking up words, learning and retaining new signs, and becoming quite a handful very fast. Aislyn has also learned the meaning of "time out" over the last couple of months. She's just as stubborn as I can be sometimes. Yep, she's a Bennett!

No. 2
"I'm the Big Sister" is what the shirt reads. That's right! Kim and I just found out we are expecting our second miracle sometime in October. This was Kim's way of telling me on Valentine's Day that she was pregnant. I came home work to have Aislyn come running to greet me in this shirt. Best Valentine's Day ever!

Finally an update!
Hello! This has been a long time coming... Aislyn is doing wonderful! She now has 4 teeth, she chatters like crazy and is running like the wind. She loves to be on the go and has a great sense of humor. She is saying Mommy, Daddy, Puppy, Doggy, Baby, and tries many other words. She can sign Please, Thank-You, More, Eat, Finished, and Daddy. She has discovered her belly button and wants to see everyone else's also. Consider yourself forewarned :0) She is such a joy and everyday is a blessing. All is good with her recovery. Next follow up appointment is in Nov. I will try to post more picture more frequently. Till next time, God Bless! ~KimE

Well, Aislyn is now 9 1/2 months old. She has been out of the belly as long as she was in the belly. It is hard to believe. She is crawling now, pulling herself up to standing, walking while you hold her hands, and she can fly through the kitchen in her walker. She is so much fun and definitely has her own little personality and stubburn streak. She has been feeling better. We went 6 days without the diaper rash but it is back again. It was a peaceful, pleasant 6 six days. Aislyn made another trip back to Children's Hospital yesterday, but this time is was to drop off a couple wagons we donated to the hospital. We still have to go back monthly for a while for check ups and to continue the dialating. She keeps us busy but we love being parents! ~KimE

Continued Progress
Aislyn went to see her specialist yesterday. Dr. Groner is pleased with her progress thus far. However, he did give us a task for Aislyn. To prevent scar tissue from forming and hindering the rectal muscles, we have to dilate her muscles daily. This is not a pleasant task for Aislyn or for Kim and I. We'll have to do this for the next three months or so and then that should be the end of that.

Continuted Improvement
Imagine this: Aislyn continues to improve almost everyday! Our big obstacle right now is her diaper rash. Not just a slight rash, but this the mother of all diaper rashes. She absolutely screams bloody murder when we have to change her. Kim and I are now into playing Paper, Rock, Scissors when changing time comes along. But when she's not getting changed, she is about 90% of her old self.
Aislyn has also had a few visitors. Her play pals Luke and Caleb (one of which I am told will be my future son-in-law...) came to play on Wednesday. Then on Thursday Miss Sally, Samantha, and Nathan (& Harley the Bear, too) came and spent the day while Daddy had his nose operated on. She loved seeing them all!
Oh yeah, have fun sending in those checks to Uncle Sam today...
